It's getting close to Rockygrass time and I am very excited to make it this year to my 1st one. EEK!  I am a little concerned though with the wildfires across Colorado. How close are they currently to Lyons?  I know the smoke trail has crossed several states, will it be smoky in Lyons? Is there a relief effort we can donate anything to onsite? Like general toiletries and other basic fundamentals for those displaced by the fires? I usually try to make a New Belgium brewery run when I'm in the area also, but I know there are some fires pretty close to Fort Collins as well. What is the general affect these fires have had or will have on normal activity in the area and should I just consider skipping Fort Collins this time?

no need to hit new belgium when you have oskar blues right there in lyons!

about the fires, i think the one in FC is all the way contained.  the one in boulder was out pretty quickly.  we have gotten some haze from some fires up in wyoming.   the air has indeed been hazy but not too terrible.  my 85 year old great aunt just made a trip out and was just fine.

pretty sure PB wont be having any fires in the campgrounds!  at least they didn't for telluride.

 Wave
Looking pretty good right now in Fort Collins fire-wise.  Rained off & on all late afternoon and evening today.  Rain caused some mud-slides in the High Park burn area, but no problem in town.  Weather report for next few days says cooler temps and 50% chance of rain.

Can't say what the next couple of weeks will bring, but right now I don't see any reason not to come up to FC & New Belgium. Cheers

Right on, sounds good. I will definitely have to hit up Oskar Blues and try out Mama's Little Yella Pills.  Cheers Do they sell a variety pack? I like the can art and the names, but I don't wanna buy a 12 pack of each. Might just have to pick my 2-3 favorites. And if we have time, we'll make the New Belgium trip as well. Good to hear the fires are getting under control. See you all at the festival! Wave I'll be the one with the perma-smile all weekend!!!!!

FYI, if you can get to FC earlier than RGrass, Odells (90 shilling and others) has a super cheap on-site bar at their brewery each afternoon (at least during the school year and I assume during the summer).  I think it closes at 5:00, maybe 6:00 ??  Perhaps NB and the other 2 breweries in FC do the same?  Otherwise, get to RGrass, go to Oskars, and drink the NB stuff on site.
