There was a great John Hartford memorial at Merlefest this year on the main stage.
The original John Hartford String Band with Mark Schatz hosted an amazing set with Sam Bush, Peter Rowan, Tim O'Brien, Alan O'Bryant, Alison Brown, Tut Taylor, and Pete and Joan Wernick.  It was all John Hartford songs and everyone would take turns trading off lyrics and solos.
It reminded me of being at TBF...
yep, John Hartford was certainly one of the greats Medal
