first off i would like to thank hope, hooch, T-ride Tom and the countless others that answer mine and other questioins on this board. you have already made this TBF expierence very nice. ok onto the question.

i will be arriving on monday and after i unload and set up camp i believe i will be instructed where to park? my question is will i be able to drive my car in and out until wed. night? (for hiking and exploring the area around T-ride) or will it be on lock down? if so any way to get around this? (park outside town limits?) any answers are welcome.

thanks, mike

There's no parking lock-down.  But by using your car, you give up your spot and there is no guarantee where they will park you upon your return, so there is a risk as parking fills up.

You should also keep in mind that your parking is most likely not going to be very close to Town Park.  I was there last year on Saturday morning for the land rush and I still had to park on the far end of town...at least a mile from Town Park if I were to guess.  So yes, you are free to come and go from your parking spot, but just realize that it will most likely not be that convenient to get to your car.

There is plenty to explore around Telluride within walking, biking, or free gondola ride distance.  When I park my car after unloading I never think of it again until the Monday after the festival trying to remember where the hell I left it.

Wave In the early days of my festivation the wise thing to do was rent a pickup truck from budget, they had great deals back then, and my old toyota 4wd was on it's third head gasket. Any way I unloaded and parked where I was directed and then promptly forgot about it until Monday morning. Well you can guess what happened? Not only did I not remember where I parked, I could not even remember the color or license of the rental. Now THAT was an adventure, fortunately it only took about 4 hours to find the truck ;-)
