I'll be moving to the Tri-Cities, WA right after Telluride this year.  Anybody close by?

That is a ways away.  I have a brother in Billings who usually goes to TBF (and will be there this year.)

Look forward to meeting you this year.

So far, I like the place.  I've only been there for a long weekend interview trip.  Lots of growth going on, which I hope means more arts, etc.  The schools are great, which is good for us with a 6 and a 4 year old.  We'll be much closer to family on the other side of the mts, too.

And.. The Gorge Ampitheater is only 90 mins away,  there is bluegrass jam every week Wink, and they have a small festival called the Sacajawea Bluegrass Festival every year.

Plus the air is dry and the mountains are close.

How's that Rhonny?

Good Info!!   Thumbs Up

I think I'll be heading a little further south and a little further towards the coast.  A good friend and I have been talking about either opening a little upscale boutique (I've been in the retail business for over 20 years), or a bar (I have this fantasy about groaning my way out of bed, taking a look at the Pacific as a scratch my bum past the big ol'balcony off my bedroom overlooking said Pacific, walking downstairs to the bar and saying hi to Cooter, the town drunk... yada, yada, yada).

I think I'll call either venture "The Scarlet Monkey" (and Lisa agrees!), how does THAT sound to you Mike?

Most excellent!  The Oregon coast would be awesome. And, hopefully, you could send Cooter's wife over to the boutique so the family would spend all of their money at Monkey businesses!

Oregon would be better for it! C'mon home chica! And I wouldn't say that to just any old body either. I'm an old school Tom McCall sort of Oregonian.  Wink

peace, kym

p.s. are you still pickin a mando?

I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music.

Thanks Kym!  I remember the Tom McCall days!  I'm the McCall variety of Oregonian as well... Can you say Orygun?  If not... get out!  It's funny, I have lived in Utah now for over half my life, yet when asked where I'm "FROM", I still say Oregon.  I guess once an Oregonian, always an Oregonian. (I even spent a few years in Iowa.. in the commune... and never claim that state either)

Right now it's looking like I'm going to end up in the Portland area.  We've still got to determine the best place for "Monkey Business"...

Hey... have you been to the Country Fair lately?

I am still picking a Mando... just not in public at this time.  I am working towards "debuting" my skills in TP though.  I have to realize that just because I can't play like Sammy, doesn't mean I can't play.

Where are you located Kym?  You can PM me that if you'd rather...

xoxo

P.S.  So there's Northwest String Summit, and then there's another fest that is on someone's farm right?  Do you know the name of that fest?  For some reason, when I think of it, I think of fairies.
